Q: What is an AIN Global Conference?

A: The Applied Improvisation Network (AIN) Global Conferences are annual gatherings for our members and those interested in the field of applied improvisation. The location of the conference rotates around the globe, to see a list of our past conferences, click here.

Our conference will have workshops, presentations, amazing keynotes, delicious meals, games, and so much more. Plan to be there a few days early if you want to join in on the pre-conference sessions, also known as, Learning Journeys.

Get ready for an amazing conference experience - all under one roof! We will stay and play at the amazing Hotel Ambasciatori in Rimini! Prepare for an incredible conference package, combining your ticket and hotel stay all together.

Q: What can I expect at an AIN Global Conference?

A: At an AIN Global Conference, you can expect an environment that swaps traditional lectures for high-energy, experiential learning. Rooted in the "Yes, And" philosophy, the sessions are deeply interactive, often requiring you to get on your feet to practice improv-based techniques applied to business, healthcare, and social change. It is a space where the usual professional hierarchies dissolve, replaced by a culture of radical inclusivity and playful curiosity.

Between the diverse workshops and participant-led "Open Space" sessions, you’ll find yourself connecting with a global community of practitioners who value vulnerability and creative problem-solving. While the atmosphere is joyful and filled with laughter, the intellectual rigor is high, focusing on how spontaneity can drive real-world innovation. Come prepared for a blend of deep academic insight, physical movement, and meaningful networking that feels more like a collaborative laboratory than a standard seminar.

Q: What are Learning Journeys?

A: Learning Journeys are workshops that take place before the main conference. They offer in-depth topics with experienced facilitators and often have a direct connection with the conference city or region. Over the years, the Learning Journeys have become increasingly significant, with 60%+ of conference participants also booking Learning Journeys.

Q: What is an RFP?

A: RFP (Request for Proposals) is the official call for presenters, facilitators, and researchers to submit their session ideas for our conference. The session formats we offer are Learning Journeys, Workshops, and AIN Talks. We also have Open Space sessions after the conference where anyone can propose a topic or offer, right there on the spot.
